How could I make this story funnier?

In science I'm writing a story about what we think it would be like to be near during a supervolcano eruption...(kinda stupid) umm so far it seems all serious.,..but i dont wanna be all dull soo like give me some random parts to put in the story that could be funny or somethi like that
