How many NBA coaches can boast winning a Championship in only their 2nd season? BQ inside?
HOnestly i would say two... the bulls were a GREAT team, and a great dynasty... and you would need a coach like Phil Jackson to lead them, I dont think any other coach would of controlled players like Rodman... or put players like Kerr, Paxon, Wennington, and Kukoc in the right positions to succeed... lets be honest MJ would not do that, with MJ mentality he would of drove Kerr or Wennington right out the league... anyone remembers when Jordan Punched Kerr in practice.. yeah and MJ def would not of tolerated the antics of Rodman... and not to mention, Phil and his coaching staff, brought the right system to help MJ become who we know him as... taught him how to p out fo the triangle, lets not forget MJ was a horrible per in his early years.. talk about a ball hogger, in that season when he avg 36pts or so, he took an average 28 shot per game, correct me if im wrong but I pretty sure about that... One player can and will NEVER win a championship... i believe Phil Jackson was critical to MJ career... the year that MJ left to play baseball, the bulls still won well over 50 games with just Pippen running the show for Phil... so...
